REMINGTON, Jack Howard
Entered into his eternal rest peacefully at the Friendly Manor on Monday, May 16, 2022. Loving husband of the late Suzanne (Scarlett); lovingly remembered by children John (Barb), Lynda (Terry), David (Diane) and grandpa to Katie (Jordan), Joe (Brittany) and great grandpa to Ellie Noelle, brother of the late Margaret Westlake (Arnold), Irene Loan Johnston (Gordon), brother-in-law to Jane McGarvey (Glen) and remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Wes and Thelma Remington. Jack was born in 1939 in Campbellford, the youngest of three children of Wes and Thelma. Jack spent most of his youth in Newburgh and attended Napanee High School where he met the love of his life, Sue. In 1963, Dad and Mom built our family home along the shores of the Napanee River. Jack had a wonderful sense of humour, a love for family and friends, enjoyed woodworking, boating, camping and music. He could pick up a guitar and play for hours. Dad always liked the simple things in life and treasured the memories made on our many family trips across Canada and the U.S. In his later years Dad was never far from his faithful companion, his dog Zack. While we have a big hole in our hearts, we are comforted by the fact Mom and Dad are together again. A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace United Church in Napanee on Saturday, May 21st at 2 pm, followed by interment at Riverview Cemetery. The family invites everyone back to the church hall following the interment for a luncheon. We would like to say a special thanks to Dr. Reynolds and the caring staff at the Friendly Manor who took such good care of dad the last four years. We would also like to thank the staff at Quinte Health Care for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations to Grace United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements in the care of Hannah Funeral Home, in Napanee.
