Donna Washburn
Donna was born on October 20, 1940 in Listowel, Ontario, the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle Browne. She is survived by her sister Marilyn and her brother Ken. Donna attended the University of Guelph, graduating in 1963 with a B.HSc. She was also a Registered Professional Dietitian. She later received her Ontario Teacher’s Certificate and first taught Home Economics at Napanee District Secondary School and then Hotel and Restaurant management at St. Lawrence College (Brockville). Donna was a much-loved educator who touched thousands of lives. Donna, with her close friend Heather, ran a successful business authoring 16 highly successful cookbooks. Donna loved to travel and was able to visit Europe and Australia. She put thousands of miles on her motorcycle, and spent her winter months in Texas and Georgia. Donna’s other passions were gardening and spending time with family and her large circle of friends. Donna is survived by her sons Jeffrey and Stephen, their wives Linda and Kerry-Ann, along with three grandsons Martin, Andrew, and Joshua. She instilled in her family a sense of humour, integrity, and a zest for life. She will be missed. In memory of Donna, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society are greatly appreciated. A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2022.
