TAYLOR, Peter
May 30, 1934 – July 6, 2019

Peter, also known as “Mr. T”, was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. His father was determined to get his family as far away from war as possible, so they emigrated to Canada in 1948. Peter was the devoted husband of Carol June (Stilwell), deceased, and Rita Gordon (Sweet), deceased. Beloved father of David, Catherine and Thomas (Elizabeth). Loving grandfather of Luke, Noelle, Philip, and William Freymond, Michael, Sarah, Peter, Mathew and Max Taylor. Dear great-grandfather of Payton and Alexandre. Beloved eldest son of Alec and Mary Taylor, (deceased) and dear eldest brother of Alec, Tony, Paul (deceased), Terry and Mary. Doting owner of golden retriever Marley, (deceased). Peter was an expert draughtsman for Butler’s Manufacturing in Burlington, ON, for decades. With Carol, and later, Rita, he enjoyed traveling to Newfoundland, Florida, Mexico, Australia, Hawaii and the United Kingdom. Peter loved to learn; he practiced judo, taught himself how to play the trumpet and piano, did woodworking, and studied Spanish. He was a gentlemanly role model for all of us. Peter passed away peacefully at home in Stittsville, surrounded by family members. In line with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a quiet ceremony honouring Peter’s life was held in Stittsville. In lieu of donations, his family invites you to take the time to enjoy a hot cup of tea, pat a friendly dog and say something kind to a stranger.
