There are still no trees being planted. Well, there was one, planted diligently by Lennox and Addington County staff in front of the court house.
Meanwhile, along Bridge and Dundas Streets where mature trees were removed: void.
The exceptions have been faithful churches — St. Mary Magdalene, Grace United, and Trinity United leading the way as they often do by example, including volunteer services and education. Even some restaurants and businesses have done a better job.
Shaded streets are a comfort and an attraction for visitors — longer lasting than plots of potted flowers. They’re attractive, if you can find a parking place nearby.
