19 straight wins for Peewee BB Stars

The Napanee Peewee BB Stars continue to have great success in the Eastern Ontario League with nineteen consecutive league wins to date.

They cruised to a 12-1 win over Loyalist in Amherstview, and then on Sunday, they controlled Frontenac with a 7-1 victory, thanks to five power-play goals.

Eight players made the scoresheet, as Cal Uens tallied three goals and two assists, while Luc Amat had a goal and assist. Spencer Cranley, Karter Vermilyea, and Jake Wood each scored singles, and Ethan Sutcliffe, Will Myers, and Gavin Brooks each had two assists

  •  The Novice AFW Construction Stars got back on the winning track with road wins in Gananoque, 7-3, and in Brighton, 4-1. They are undefeated over their last six games, and carry a 10-4-2 record.
  •  The Joyce’s Meats & Deli Atom AE squad earned a 2-2 tie in Ennismore, but fell at home 4-2 to Bancroft. Sophie Fraser and Jacob Cox each scored, while Malcolm McCaw and Scott Scrimshaw assisted in the home game. Goalies Hudson Wiltshire and Jack Godfrey performed well.
  •  Meanwhile, the Bantam Stars had a solid 3-1 win over Gananoque at the SPC Saturday. They trailed briefly before Andy Ruttan tied it up. Ryan Scilley got the winner, and Brian Christie clinched the deal in the late going. On the road, they matched Stirling 5-5.
  •  The Country Traditions Bantam Stars posted a dismal 0-4 record in the Kingston Church League tournament. Elliot Mundle had eight points over the weekend, with James Bailey adding three and Braden Bannon netting a pair.

Napanee Crunch

  • The Atom B Crunch earned two shutouts over the weekend. On Saturday they blanked the Cold Creek Comets 8-0.  Alexa Tyner and Sienna Eberle each had two goals and two assists.  Harper Balance and Alaina Holmes each had two goals. Sunday was 6-0 over the Peterborough Ice Kats. Emma Goodsell-Labarge earned the shutout. Two goals each for Eberle and Emma Brumell. Brooklyn Alaver and Tyner each had a goal and an assist.
  •  The Peewee BBs completed a four game weekend with three wins and a tie, good for seven points. They played a double header in Whitby against the Wolves on Saturday, winning the first game 3-1 with Meena Peterson in net. Lila Pringle, Sydney Woodcock and Kristen Sutton each had a goal with Woodcock, Claire McConnell, Pringle and Megan Morsette earning assists.  In the second game they skated to a 3-3 draw. Woodcock, Morsette and Maeve Kennedy each had a goal, with Kennedy’s coming with just 45 seconds left on the clock. Bethany Foster, Kaylee Brooks and Gracie Hughes had helpers. On Sunday it was another double-header, this time against the Toronto Leaside Wild Cat Juniors. In the first game the Crunch came away with a 3-1 win, with Peterson earning the victory. Mackenzie Tyner had a pair of goals while Brooks added the third. Brooks also had two assists while Jaydin Manion and Kaydin Brooks had one.Napanee closed out the weekend with Keyra Herrington earning a 4-0 shutout. Pringle and Kaylee Brooks had singles while Tyner scored twice.
