On Saturday, June 2, the Friends of the Salmon River are inviting the public to peer down the inside of a well to learn about groundwater. The half-day of water activity will be held at the Kennedy Field Station north of Tamworth, which Queen’s University is using as a groundwater study site.
Groups led by Queen’s researchers can look through a video camera to see the fractures that govern groundwater flow, observe rock cores from wells, sample groundwater with a hand pump and mechanical pump, and test using pulse interference.
The event runs from 12:30-4 p.m. Registration is required, contact Susan at by e-mail at email@example.com or by phone at 613-379-5958. More information is available at the website www.friendsofsalmonriver.ca.
