The Barr Homes Napanee Express U12 girls got a walk-off win against the Oshawa Shamrocks last week, winning 8-7.
Oshawa held a 4-1 lead through four innings before the Express bats came to life in the fifth, exploding for five runs. Hannah Tulloch and Jaidyn Manion had RBI singles in the inning and some crafty baserunning added another three runs.
In the top of the final inning, Kayla Gendron gunned out a Shamrock runner at the plate to catcher, Keyana Whan. Whan then turned and fired a bullet to third to nail the runner for a double play and the end of the inning. This preserved the tie, but the Express had the last bat. Whan lead off with a triple down the third base line. Lila Pringle drove her in with a single up the middle, to end the game.
